Vintage Hand Gaff Hook

More info

We're certain this hand gaff hook could tell many a fish tale.  We think its primary use was as a gaff hook because a) it's in Florida, b) the brass rivets are corroded green from saltwater, c) the hook is stainless steel, d) it's made by Dexter who makes gaff hooks today.  But maybe it is a meat hook from a butcher.  Stamped into the wood handle is '3 73 Stainless  Dexter Hook' plus '???206268' has been etched by hand.  '???' means we can't read it. It has a 4 inch handle; handle and hook together measures 5 inches.  It weighs 0.25 lbs.
