A beautiful example of Haitian, hand-made art. The bust is hand-formed (not a slip casting) from red clay. After firing it was covered with a black wash to achieve its final finish. The bust has no cracks or significant chips. The wash on the back has worn to reveal the red clay. It is know to be at least 50 yrs old and could be significantly older.
